This past week, the Mile End Mission organized our annual trip to the beach at Yamaska National Park. This intergenerational experience included over 40 members from all sides of the Mission: families, our leadership team, seniors; members and kids galore! Mid-morning, the excited group boarded a school bus and began the journey to one of Quebec’s finest natural parks.
Once there, members enjoyed a lunch of sandwiches (made with love by our summer students), fresh fruit, and cold drinks while soaking up the sun. After a nutritious meal, everyone went their own ways to enjoy the sunshine. Some sat out and worked on their tans, others went for a swim, while kids played soccer or frisbee in the field.
The restorative power of a beautiful day in nature is not to be underestimated! After several hours at the beach, members packed back onto the bus, sun-kissed, well-fed and relaxed—until next year!
