5th Annual Thanksgiving Benefit Dinner

On Thursday October 24, 2013 the Mile End Community Mission invites friends and supporters for an enjoyable evening of entertainment in the magnificent facilities of Le Crystal.

Former World Boxing Champ Otis Grant, who is well known to community and school outreach programs, will be the Mission’s keynote speaker for the evening. Notable alumnus of Vanier College and Concordia University, Otis represented Canada internationally as a Member of the National Boxing Team and later held the WBO Middleweight title during a very successful career in professional boxing. Through his Foundation work he supports many causes in Montreal and is well qualified to share his thoughts on volunteerism and service to the community.

Mile End Community Mission opened in May of 1991 in the basement of a Church on Park Avenue as a soup kitchen for some 20 local residents. Today the Mission fills needs for an ever-growing number of disadvantaged people in the Mile End and adjacent areas. This is done through the tireless dedicated efforts of a staff of three, summer students, numerous volunteers and Board of Directors. We share a common goal – “to create a safe, welcoming community which meets practical, emotional and spiritual needs of people of low income.” In order to help meet these needs we hold fundraising events to replenish our capital and operating requirements. Our objective for the 2013 Benefit Dinner is $35,000.

Please join us for Cocktails at 6PM and Dinner 7-9PM in the beautiful Le Crystal conveniently located at 5285 Henri-Bourassa West in Saint-Laurent providing state of the art facilities with elevator & wheelchair accessibility and ample free parking on site.

Take advantage of our Early Bird price of $200 by purchasing your tickets before October 3rd. Regular price is $225 per person. Corporate Tables and Sponsorships are available as well. Please contact Linda Hachey at 514 274-3401 or general@ mileendmission.org
