The Mile End Community Mission is excited to have received a $10,000 donation from Maple Leaf Foods’ Feed-It-Forward program!
This donation will help us to continue to provide the many food services we offer to disadvantaged individuals and families living in and around the Mile End area of Montreal. In particular, it will help us meet the growing demand for food services by our members who struggle daily to survive well below the poverty line.
One thing we have learned at the Mission over the years is that many wonderful things happen around food. The friendships and sense of community that develop help break the isolation of so many of our members. As fellowship, good times and memories are shared around the kitchen table, resources, information, education, life-skills development and other supports can be more easily provided.
Food plays a central role in our mission and we are so grateful to Maple Leaf Foods for helping make our mission possible.
